As the fair focused on connecting students with businesses promoting the field of public health, InteRDom spoke with many students who inquired specifically about the opportunities in the areas of biomedical engineering, public health policy and medical fieldwork, that are available in the Dominican Republic through the InteRDom program, as well as the programs and opportunities that InteRDom’s parent institutions, the Global Foundation for
Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), provide.
There was an interest from students in conducting high-level research projects, especially those related to the United Nations Millennium Development Goals, so InteRDom representatives relayed information about
the Fellows program.
As always, networking is a priority at fairs and other large-scale events, and program staff were able to meet representatives of other organizations in attendance, which included Amigos de Las Americas, Concern Worldwide, UNICEF, Global Health Corps and Peace Corps, among others.
InteRDom Internships is the premier internship, research and academic
study program in the Dominican Republic. It offers international students the opportunity to research important topics at the forefront of the United Nations agenda, obtain professional experience by interning with Dominican organizations and businesses related to their fields of study and/or earn academic credits by taking courses and seminars at a local university.
